Beautiful full eyebrows compliment the shape of your face and accentuate your eyes and facial expressions. Unfortunately not all of us are blessed with full and perfectly shaped eyebrows. Obviously using eyebrow pencils and powders are suitable for a temporary improvement of scarce growth and malformed or asymmetrical eyebrows. Yet, if you are searching for a technique in which the results last longer, then the hairstroke or shadow technique provides an ideal outcome. The results of these treatments look completely naturally -even when viewed closely- and will save you a lot of time in the morning. Each treatment session takes between 1 and 1.5 hours.
The hairstroke technique generates the effect of fine, natural hairs and is ideal for perfecting too thin, too short or too sparse eyebrows. Even if the eyebrows are completely gone, it is possible to create a new natural looking eyebrow with this method.
This technique generates the effect of a powdery eyebrow that is comparable to using an eyebrow pencil or powder. The shadow technique has a soft look and is more compact than the result of the feathery hairstroke technique.
Permanent eyeliner provides a solution for those who prefer to have defined eyes every day and/or when you have difficulties in using eye pencils. Besides this, permanent eyeliner has the benefit that it will not fade or wipe out during the day. Forget about the thick lines that were generated before. Currently, there are several types of eyeliners, which can even be put in between the lashes for a natural result. The duration of the treatment depends on the method; the average length is between 1 and 1.5 hours.
Infralash is a subtle line between the eyelashes, which is not comparable to a ‘normal’ eyeliner above the lashes. This method gives a natural effect, in which the lashes appear to be fuller.
This is a full eyeliner that stands out, ideal for those who draw a line on a daily basis.
Smudgy eyeliner is a more shaded eyeliner, consisting of two or three colors that go from dark to light. This eyeliner is suitable for people with a large moving eyelid.
The older you get, the paler the color of the lips seem to become. Next to this, the lip contours seem to get blurrier over time, which results in an irregular lip line. Eventually, the lips will also lose their fullness. With a permanent lip liner, lip liner with shadow or full lip treatment these phenomena can be solved. With these methods perfect lips can be obtained, without the use of a time-consuming lipstick or lip pencil. For those who like to have a natural lip line this is the ideal solution. The treatment takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.
A lip liner provides the mouth with clear contours that have a natural looking result. To achieve this a pigment color is chosen that is as close as possible to your natural lip color.
Lip liner with shadow
This treatment results in a shaded lip liner in which first the lip line is applied with a shadow technique and then the inside of the contour line is colored. Large bumps can also be corrected with this technique. The smooth running of the line makes this method subtle and natural.
This method is ideal for lips that have little pigment of their own and encompasses the full coloring the lips.
When you decide to undergo a permanent makeup treatment this page will provide you with information about the realization of the treatment.
Each new treatment consists of three sessions with an interval of four to six weeks to generate optimal results. During these three sessions, the pigment will be brought into the skin layer by layer. By building the pigments in layers natural results can be obtained and these results will stay for a longer period of time. Next to this, the specialist is still able to make changes or adjustments within each session. For example, if you want the color to be more intense or the shape to be adjusted. After the treatment (three sessions in total) is completed, it is advisable to undergo an after treatment in about 1 to 1.5 years. When no after treatment is applied, the pigments will slowly fade in a natural way.
During the intake (first appointment) an ‘informed consent’ document need to be signed. This is a brief questionnaire about your health, which is necessary in order to proceed the treatment in a safe and responsible manner. The first step entails the exploration of the desired pigment color and shape by brushing the selected pigment(s) to draw a subtle example. This is done to make sure that the right color and style will be applied. Thus, when the brushed on example does not meet your wishes, it can be changed before actually applying the pigments into the skin. When the color and shape are chosen, the next step is to apply the pigment into the skin.
After the treatment a skincare cream will be provided and the aftercare form will provide information and tips about how you need to take care of the treated area. With an interval of four to six weeks the following sessions will be performed.
DFine Clinic pays attention to their customer’s comfort; therefore, a calming cream is used to soften the treatment. It is not necessary to bring your own cream.
To generate optimal conditions for each PMU treatment, DFine Clinic offers the following recommendations, which serve as precaution instructions, prior to each treatment session:
●A few days before each PMU session: do NOT drink green tea or other beverages that are high in antioxidants. Preferably, do not eat food and/or supplements that have vitamin A and E. Antioxidants, especially vitamin A and E, protect the skin from external influences and this could inhibit pigmentation.
●24 hours before each PMU session: do NOT drink alcohol. This increases the risk of bleeding during the treatment, which makes pigmentation more difficult. Moreover, it may enhance the potential swelling after the treatment. Next to this, do not take Aspirine, Ibufrofen or Naproxen…. Paracetamol is okay. Also do not take blood-thinning medications (consult your physician before starting the PMU treatment).
●On the day of the PMU session: Do NOT drink coffee or other caffeinated beverages. This also increases the chance of bleeding during the session.
●Do not use a cream (like facial care or a corticosteroid) on the place of the pigmentation on the day of the treatment. Next to this, many facial creams contain vitamin E. If yours contains vitamin E, it is recommended to stop using that cream a few days before the PMU session.
●If you get an eyebrow treatment: it is not recommended to undergo eyebrow bleaching treatments; the chemicals will also bleach the pigment out of your skin. However, the hairs are allowed to be colored.
●If you get an eyeliner treatment: contact lenses should be off. Be aware that it may be uncomfortable to wear contact lenses after the treatment. Next to this, it is strongly recommended to start wearing contact lenses no sooner than 72 hours after the treatment. Preferably the lenses are rinsed with sterile water before placing them. First, to diminish possible infections coming from bacteria from your hands and secondly, because the solution used to clean and store lenses contain salt. Salt draws the pigment out of the skin.
●If you get a lip treatment: when you make multiple use of a lipbalm or lipgloss (more than two times a day for a prolonged time), it is recommended to stop using these balms/glosses two weeks before treatment. Prolonged use of a lipbalm or lipgloss can delay cell division, which could affect the results.
●If you had a cold sore before and you would like to undergo a lip treatment, we strongly recommend you to follow this advice. Start one week in advance with 1000mg to 2000mg L-lysine and vitamin C-ester tablets (for example Solgar and Orthica) up to 7 days after the treatment. Furthermore, start using lubrication with Zovirax cream as soon as you feel a tingling sensation (available in a regular drugstore).
●Do not exercise on the day of treatment, body heat opens the pores and induces sweat release. Sweat (salt) inhibits pigmentation (salt is also used to remove PMU).
●In addition, we recommend not to plan a treatment session during your menstruation week, since this could inhibit pigmentation and/or induce bleeding. Next to this, the skin can be much more sensitive.
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS PERMANENT MAKEUP
When you decide to undergo a permanent makeup treatment this page will provide you with information about how to take care of the treated area after each treatment session.
After each treatment session, the pigmented skin can be a bit irritated, feel a bit tight and/or a slight swelling could emerge. As this is part of the healing process, you do not need to worry about these effects. To improve healing and to gain the best results, the following advice of aftercare instructions should be taken into account:
●The treated skin should be kept dry for at least 5 and preferably 10 days. Note!! Do not apply water, body milk, lotion and makeup at the treated area during these days. It is strongly recommended to apply a thin layer of Vaseline on the treated skin within the first 5-10 days before sleeping or taking a shower. For lip treatments it is also adviced to put Vaseline on while you brush your teeth. This will help the skin to heal faster and healthier, which will benefit the results. After 5 to 10 days, the skin is fully closed and you are allowed to make the treated area wet again and use care or cosmetic products and makeup.
●After a few days very small grains will arise on the skin; these are tiny scabs. Do not scratch these scabs off, but let your skin repel them on it own to prevent scarring. On the 3rd or 4th day, the divestment of redundant pigment will take place, which will make the color less intense. When you follow the aftercare instructions in this document, the treatment will be less uncomfortable and the skin will recover smoothly.
●Try to touch the permanent makeup, as little as possible, with bare hands to prevent infection. Dab the treated area only with a clean tissue and try to keep it as dry as possible.
●Do not use disinfectants like Sterilon and Betadine or put bandages or gauze over the treated area. As mentioned before keep the treated area dry.
●For the best healing and to avoid fading of the pigments, it is better to skip exercising for 5 to 10 days. Next to this do not go to the sauna and/or the swimming pool. Sweat contains salt, which draws the pigments out.
● In the first seven days, try to avoid (as much as possible) direct sunlight or tanning light. After these days, protect the PMU with SPF 30 or higher.
●It is recommended to avoid chemical peels for at least six months after the pigmentation. In addition, it is also advisable not to use retinol containing (vitamin A) products or peels and scrubs on the PMU the first month after treatment. They could enhance the possibility that the pigment diminishes or fades out.
●For eyebrow treatment: after the treatment is healed it is recommended to use a sunscreen with sun protection factor 30 or higher while sunbathing, because UV light diminishes the color.
●For lip treatments: try to drink from a straw at least the first hours after treatment and avoid spicy food or hot drinks the first days. Furthermore, do not use whitening toothpaste and use Vaseline the first 5 days on the lips when brushing your teeth.
●For eye treatments: it is highly recommended to not wear contact lenses for 72 hours after treatment. If you must (don’t have glasses), rinse them properly with sterile water before placing. As mentioned before, salty fluids (like contact lens fluid) diminish the pigment.
●When you have cold sores on a regularly basis, the following advice will help to prevent gaining cold sores after PMU treatments. Three days before treatment start to take L-lysine and vitamin C-ester (preferably of the brands Solgar and Orthica). Depending on the severity and frequency of cold sores, you can vary between 1000mg and 2000mg per day. Take the supplements together on an empty stomach. You can stop approximately seven days after treatment.
Medical pigmentation techniques make it possible to cover up imperfections and to achieve visual enhancements. For example, scars can be made less noticeable, hairs can be simulated and nipples can be forged after a breast surgery.
With PMU it is possible to make scars less noticeable. One condition for this treatment is that the scar is lighter than the surrounding skin and should have healed properly. Pigments similar to the skin color will be added at the scar tissue to reduce the difference in color between the scar and the surrounding skin. This type of pigmentation is suitable for all skin colors and skin types.
Hair micro simulation
This treatment provides a surgery free and long term solution for hair loss on the scalp due to hair loss with regular pattern, thinning hair, scars formed after hair transplant surgery, scars from injury or surgery, alopecia or trichotillomania. The technique allows the simulation of natural looking hair and can be used to replace the hair on the scalp, beard and mustache.
Alopecia is a disease within the hair roots that could result in diminished hair growth or patches of complete baldness. Subsequently, facial hair like eyebrows and eyelashes could also disappear. If this occurs, pigmentation of 3D eyebrows and eyeliner can enhance the facial expression.
Vitiligo (pigment disorder)
Vitiligo results in the disappearance of the natural pigment of the skin. With a PMU treatment the loss of pigments can be made less noticeable by applying pigments that are similar to the normal skin color. One condition to undergo this treatment is that the effects of vitiligo must be stable for at least three years, in order to ensure that the area does not expand. During an intake appointment a small color test is conducted at the least noticeable place to test which color provides the best results. After 4 to 6 weeks the color of the test area is assessed to choose the best color to start the full treatment.
Nipple and areola pigmentation
This treatment for individuals who had breast reconstruction (eg. after surgery for breast cancer) entails mimicking the nipple and areola by adding different pigments into the skin. By using a special needle technique, a natural appearing 3-D result can be achieved. Next to this, scars or deformations of the areola as a result of a breast lift or breast reduction, can also be minimized and corrected. Furthermore, for both men and women who experience their areola to be too pale, too small or when it does not have enough definition, adding pigments can be a solution.
Clefts (cleft lip) camouflage
This is a congenital abnormality of the lip shape, which can be camouflaged with a full lips pigmentation treatment. With this treatment, the symmetry will be restored and the entire lip area will be enhanced with a natural lip color, making the lips more eye catching.
